Ioana Maria Lupașcum (19 September 1977 – 31 August 2023) was a Romanian pianist.

She was born in Brăila, Romania, and began playing the piano at the age of four. She studied at the National University of Music Bucharest, where she was a student of Dan Grigore. She later studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, where she was a student of Elisso Virsaladze.

Lupașcum won several international piano competitions, including the International Telekom Beethoven Competition in Bonn (1993), the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw (1995), and the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1998).

She performed as a soloist with major orchestras around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. She also recorded several albums, including a complete recording of the works of Frédéric Chopin.

Ioana Maria Lupașcum passed away on 31 August 2023, at the age of 45.
