Kadri Mälk was born in the vibrant city of Tallinn, Estonia. Her artistic journey began in 1977 when she enrolled at the Tartu Art School. After years of dedication and hard work, she proudly graduated from the prestigious Estonian Academy of Arts in 1986, where she had the privilege of studying under the esteemed Professor Leili Kuldkepp. Following her graduation, Mälk ventured into the world as a freelance artist, working tirelessly from 1986 to 1993 to express her creative vision.
In 1993, Mälk embarked on a new chapter of her educational journey. She enrolled at the Lahti Design Institute in Finland, where she immersed herself in the captivating world of gemmology. Under the expert guidance of Esko Timonen, she delved deep into the study of precious gems and their intricate properties. Mälk’s thirst for knowledge led her to Germany, where she completed her studies at Bernd Munsteiner’s lapidary studio, further enhancing her expertise in the art of jewelry design.
Mälk’s dedication to her craft extended to the realm of academia. Her association with the Estonian Academy of Arts commenced in 1989, where she made invaluable contributions.
