Maria Carme Junyent i Figueras (4 February 1955 – 3 September 2023) was a Spanish philologist, medievalist and professor at the University of Barcelona.

She was born in Masquefa, Spain in 1955. She studied at the University of Barcelona, where she earned a degree in Romance philology. She then went on to study at the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a master’s degree in linguistics. She also studied at the University of Cologne and the Philipps-University Marburg.

She returned to the University of Barcelona, where she became a professor of medieval literature. She was also the director of the university’s Institute of Medieval Studies.

She was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi in 2006 for her contributions to Catalan culture.

Maria Carme Junyent i Figueras died on 3 September 2023 at the age of 68.
